"Nimrod" was a serial killer and the chairman of the Cereal Convention committee.
History[]
Nimrod was a successful orthodontist who overcame his fear of women by becoming a serial killer. He had exceptional hunting skills, being able to "bone, joint and gut any animal in minutes", and had a shack out in Vermont with four chest freezers full with remains of his victims.[1]
At some point Nimrod came up with the idea to organize a first ever "Cereal convention" - a weekend gathering of "kindred spirits" where his fellow serial killers could share their experiences - and began planting rumors and sending out invitations. One of the people who picked up on those rumors was the Corinthian, whose "work" inspired many of the attendees in the first place.[2]
Nimrod turned out to be a capable organizer: he booked out a hotel in Georgia, recruited other killers to assist him with reception and panels, and even was able to make up for the absence of the supposed "guest of honor", Family Man, by convincing the Corinthian to give a speech. However, an emergency still arose when the Corinthian and Flay-by-Night informed Nimrod that there was an impostor among them. Deciding that this justifies breaking a self-imposed rule "we don't shit where we eat", the three took the fake Bogeyman into the woods and murdered him, taking turns.
At the end of the convention, Nimrod, along with all other attendees, had his delusions taken away from him by Dream. His further fate is unknown.[1]
Trivia[]
- Nimrod is a Biblical character known primarily for being "a mighty hunter before the Lord", a line referenced in the comic. Some legends also point at him as the builder of the Babel tower, the fate of which Nimrod's convention ends up sharing.
