Martin Tenbones was the companion and protector of Barbie in the fantasy world of her dreams called "The Land."

Martin was inspired by one of Barbie's childhood toys, and in form, resembles a massive dog-like creature.
Martin acted as Barbie's protector when she would dream of a strange place called The Land, where she was the ruler of a fairytale kingdom deposed by the Cuckoo. In Into the Night, Barbie dreamed of accompanying Martin Tenbones in the Land on their quest to retrieve the Porpentine. Martin sensed a time vortex incurred by Rose Walker, which caused Barbie's dream to interact with Ken's dream.[1] Once Barbie woke up, she ended her relationship with Ken, and never dreamt again.[2]
In Slaughter on Fifth Avenue, Martin made the journey to the real world with the Porpentine, in hopes of finding Barbie and warn her of the Cuckoo's return.
Later that day, Barbie is shocked to actually catch a glimpse of Martin Tenbones. When Martin approaches, the police open fire on him. The big creature lay bleeding in Barbie's arms and struggled to explain that The Land needed her. He gave her the Porpentine, and then died.
