Jessamy was Dream's previous Raven. She was killed while attempting to rescue Dream from his imprisonment in Roderick Burgess' basement.

Looking for any opportunity to rescue her master[]
After Dream's imprisonment, Jessamy spent a decade persistently trying to find a way to free him. She scouted Roderick Burgess’ mansion, trying to find any possible way to free Dream. It appears that Jessamy did not return to The Dreaming during this time to report to anyone about Dream's imprisonment, as Lucienne later claims that no one within The Dreaming had any clue what had happened to Dream.
Her attempted rescue[]
Jessamy eventually devised a plan to create a distraction. By stealing a match, she was able to start a fire in the mansion and draw attention away from Dream’s prison. During the chaos, Jessamy flew into the basement where Dream was held captive in a glass globe. She pecked relentlessly at the glass, trying to break it and free Dream.
Her tragic end[]
Unfortunately, her efforts are thwarted when Alex Burgess, Roderick’s son, shoots her. Jessamy died in her attempt, her blood splattering on the glass globe.
Physical Appearance[]
Jessamy was a pied crow,[1] a species of small raven found across Africa.[2] She had a black head, wings and tail, while her body and back were white.
