Jenny Green is the owner of the Tongue & Tail butcher shop, as well as Crystal and Niko's landlord. She’s fairly patient about their antics but would like them to stay out of her professional and personal business.
History[]
Renting out to Crystal[]
Jenny has a room for rent just over top of her butcher shop, which Crystal claims to be interested in. Jenny is a bit hesitant renting to a stranger, but does so nonetheless. While showing Crystal to her room, Jenny reveals that her only neighbor is a girl named Niko, who keeps to herself. Later that night, seeing Crystal stressed just out back of the shop, Jenny offers a few words of wisdom, explaining everybody is only thinking about themselves, all the time, including Crystal.[1]
Jenny questions Crystal's weird behavior, from the banging, to her talking to herself, but Crystal is distracted by the arrival of Edwin and Charles, Jenny cannot see due to them being ghosts. Crystal tries to maintain eye contact with Jenny while also hearing out the Boys proves too difficult a task for Crystal, as Jenny realizes that something is going on with Crystal and tells her to stop being weird.[2]
Jenny's secret admirer[]

Jenny reads a letter from her secret admirer
Whilst paying their rent to Jenny, Crystal and Niko discover that a secret admirer is sending Jenny love letters. They offer to help her find her admirer, but she turns down their help. The letters are nice, but they are all computer typed, which is creepy and serial killer territory by Jenny's account. Additionally, no one ever turns out to be who you think they are, Jenny remarks. Later, Jenny reads over the latest letter from her secret admirer when she suddenly hears the floorboards creek despite no one else being home. With a meat cleaver in hand, she makes her way upstairs to find that Crystal's door is open. She is startled by the Night Nurse, who claims to be an old family friend of Crystal's and asks for her location. Night Nurse uses her ability of stopping Jenny's breath to force Jenny to reveal that Crystal and Niko went to the beach. Night Nurse proceeds to leave, wiping the memory of their violent encounter from Jenny's mind.[3]

Crystal, Niko, and Jenny call the police
Jenny learns that Niko has discovered the identity of her secret admirer; it's Maxine, the librarian. She's taken the liberty of setting up a dinner for them at the shop tonight. Jenny is skeptical, as every eligible bachelorette in town is a crazy cat lady, but Niko simply wants to help, saying that Jenny won't have to be alone and spooky anymore. Jenny relents, and before long, Maxine arrives. The dinner starts off well, but Jenny quickly discovers that something isn't right when Maxine makes mention of Jenny's oversized night shirt. Jenny questions how Maxine knows what she wears to bed. Maxine reveals that she can see in Jenny's window from the alley, claiming it's cute. And sometimes she can see what Jenny is watching and pulls the same thing up on her laptop, and it's like they're watching it together. Jenny is disturbed and asks Maxine to leave. Maxine becomes enraged and grabs a meat clever before lunging at Jenny. She insists that she doesn't want to do this and that she loves Jenny, though she'd love her more if she stopped talking back. Jenny flees into the back, with Maxine following close behind with a butcher knife. She finds Jenny hiding, but just as she's about to attack, she slips, and her head is impaled on a spike just moments before Crystal and Niko enter to see the gruesome aftermath.[4]
Jenny hasn't spoken to Nikos since the incident with Maxine, but Niko insists that they talk, as Jenny's been avoiding her. Niko suspects that Jenny is mad at her for pushing her to believe in love, only for it to backfire. Upset, Jenny decides to set some boundaries, reminding Niko that they're not friends and that their business is theirs alone to mind. Brought to tears, Niko flees upstairs, though Jenny later apologizes. Jenny is sad that she put herself out there and something tragic happened. Even though there's no way she could've known about Maxine, Jenny is finding it hard to forgive Niko. At least at the moment. Niko is upset with herself, saying that she should stay in her room forever so that she can't mess anything else up. However, Jenny refuses to allow Niko to change herself into some kind of pity-party shut-in. So if Niko loves love and wants to help people, she should do that, just not with Jenny.[5]
Finding out the truth[]

Crystal follows Jenny
Jenny follows Crystal to David's lair, unaware that he's a demon. When Crystal asks why she came, Jenny explains that she cares about Crystal's well-being and says that she shouldn't be meeting up with her abusive and probably dangerous ex. It's then that David decides to possess Jenny. He hands Crystal the cleaver and offers to open a portal for her to hell, but only if Crystal kills Jenny first. Crystal grabs David, who is inside Jenny’s body, brings him inside her mindscape, and buries him. Crystal then returns to her body just as Jenny is waking up on the ground.[6]
When Jenny awakens in Niko's bed, Crystal tells her the truth, revealing that she's psychic and that they live with ghosts, and Jenny was possessed by a demon. Jenny is in disbelief until Niko shows her Litty and Kingham, two tiny sprites in an enchanted jar. Edwin and Charles then enter the room, and to her surprise, she can see them. Before returning to London to deal with her own issues, Crystal offers to wipe her memories of it all, but only if Jenny asks. However, Jenny would prefer to know, even if she hates it, reasoning that it's better than being ignorant. Just after Crystal says her goodbyes and exits the shop, it explodes. Crystal returns inside to learn from Jenny that Esther took the Boys. Jenny has the wreckage of her family business to take care of, but she gives Crystal and Niko two meat cleavers to deal with Esther. While they do manage to stop Esther, it comes at the cost of Niko's life. So, Jenny contacts Niko's mother and intends to ship her body back to Japan.[7]
