Flay-by-Night, also known as Doctor, was a serial killer.
History[]
This gentleman whose name is undisclosed was a successful and famous surgeon. His patients included even presidents, and he saved many lives, pioneering radical new operations. However, the doctor has been leading a secret double life as a serial killer whom the media christened "Flay-by-Night" for his knack for skinning people alive. He wore a new leather necktie to each media event he attended - a fashion choice that even The New York Times pointed out, ignorant of its grim implications.
In the fall of 1989, the doctor attended the Cereal Convention, where at some point he had a chat with another attendee, the Bogeyman. Soon the doctor was informed by the Corinthian that it had been, in fact, an impostor. Together with the Corinthian and Nimrod, the doctor drove the fake Bogeyman into the woods, where the three murdered him, taking turns.
At the end of the convention, Doctor, along with all other attendees, had his delusions taken away from him by Dream. His further fate is unknown.[1]
Continuity notes[]
- Other killers usually address Flay just as "doctor". At one point Corinthian refers to him as "the good doctor", but, as opposed to the TV series, this phrase isn't treated as a nickname.
